Bike Pier 39 to Golden Gate to Sausalito

Dean + I rented some bikes for the day at Pier 41 from Blazing Saddles Bike Rentals & Tours so that we could bike across the Golden Gate Bridge and to Sausalito.

We got to enjoy a free magic show at Pier 39 before renting our bikes. His tricks were a bit predictable, but his witty banter was on point.

Our first stop after renting the bikes for for a photo-op in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. Some heavy SF fog rolled in pretty soon after this.

Here I am fighting the cold wind and fog while biking across the Golden Gate Bridge.

What you don’t see in this photo are my ‘I’m freezing’ expressions.

I can’t deny that the fog makes for some cool photos though!

Here’s our bikes and Dean snapping some photos of the bridge.

Sausalito is an adorable coastal town where there is less fog and calmer waters. You can still see the fog hovering above the bay in the background.

Always reward yourself after a job well done. Here’s our reward from the Barrel House Tavern, a trendy spot on the water.

Our tour ended with a ride across the bay in a ferry with the sun setting in the distance. We were exhausted at the end of the day, but believe that the experience was definitely worth the energy.
