Spokesmodel for Earth Day Beach Cleanup 2023

On April 22, 2023, I had the honor of participating in a beach cleanup at Po’olenalena Beach Park in celebration of Earth Day! The cleanup was hosted by 4 women-owned organizations. As public relations and spokesmodel of one of those organizations, What Makes You Feel Beautiful, my role of the day was promoting/marketing the event and interviewing the organizers and participants. Watch the event video footage below!

The following is the press release text for review of the event:

“Monica Marrow, the Founder/CEO of What Makes You Feel Beautiful, Katie Farley, the Founder/Principal of Little Monk Seal Montessori School, Elizabeth Joy, the Founder and Principal of Piaget School of Maui, and Bella Spagnuolo, a deep-sea diver/ocean steward, came together for a beach cleanup event. This time, they celebrated Earth Day and spreading community awareness.

The beach cleanup event took place on April 22, 2023, at Po’olenalena Beach Park Kihei. The four women worked together to organize this community event, and they were thrilled to see the enthusiastic response from the participants. They were joined by 58 volunteers, including families, friends, and visitors, who all wanted to give back to the planet.

The event started with an educational activity for the children led by Bella Spagnuolo. The kids learned about the importance of keeping the beaches clean and protecting marine life. They were amazed to hear about Bella’s underwater adventures, and they felt inspired to take care of the oceans.

After the educational activity, the volunteers were given trash kits bided by the Pacific Whale Foundation, and they picked up the trash they saw on the beach and documented findings. The four women walked along with the volunteers, talking to them, and thanking them for their support. The volunteers were happy to be a part of the event, and they felt proud of the work they were doing.

As they were cleaning the beach, Monica, Katie, Elizabeth, and Bella talked about their passion for empowering and supporting other local business women, teaching children, and protecting the environment. They realized that they shared a common goal, which was to make a positive impact on the community. They decided to collaborate on more events in the future and work together to create a better future for everyone.

The event ended with a group photo, and everyone felt happy and fulfilled. The four women were grateful for the opportunity to work together, and they knew that they had made a difference in the community. They hoped that this event would inspire more people to take care of the planet and make it a better place to live in.

Monica Marrow said, “I am so grateful to have met Katie, Elizabeth, and Bella. They are amazing women who share my passion for making the world a better place. I am looking forward to working with them again and creating more positive change.”

Katie Farley added, “This event was a great success, and I am proud to have been a part of it. It was wonderful to see so many people come together to support a good cause. I am excited to see what we can do together in the future.”

Elizabeth Joy said, “I am grateful for the opportunity to work with Monica, Katie, and Bella. This event was a reminder that when women come together, great things can happen. I am looking forward to collaborating on more events and making a positive impact on our community.”

Bella Spagnuolo said, “I am honored to have been a part of this event. It was amazing to see so many children and families come together to clean the beach and learn about marine life. I am excited to work with Monica, Katie, and Elizabeth to create more awareness about the importance of protecting our oceans.”

In conclusion, the beach cleanup event organized by Monica, Katie, Elizabeth, and Bella was a huge success. They were able to bring the community together, educate the children, and make a positive impact on the environment. They hope that this event will inspire more people to take action and make a difference in the world.”
